Staff training for elections

Welcome to the training page for the Portchester East by-election, taking place on Thursday 20 October.

All polling station staff are required to watch the training videos linked below - modules 1-5 are for Poll Clerks, Presiding Officers and Polling Station Inspectors, with module 6 being specifically for Presiding Officers and Inspectors (everyone is, however,  welcome to watch module 6).

There are six modules in total, each covering the following:

Module 4 - Voting Procedure

Module 5 - What Happens If

Module 6 - Presiding Officer

After watching the above videos, we will need to you to complete a short quiz based on what you have learned.  This isn't anything to worry about and will simply help us to gauge your understanding of the process.  Please note that we are only able to make your training payment of £40 if you have completed the quiz (the payment isn't dependent upon a 100% pass mark!).  Please access the quiz questions here:

Please either print the sheet off, circle your answers and email a scanned/photographed image of it to election.staff@fareham.gov.uk or alternatively type your answers in an email to us, ensuring they are correctly numbered.

Please note that if you are still unsure of anything after you have watched the modules, please get in touch with the Elections team.

Presiding Officers - ballot box drop-off

Address of ballot box drop-off is Fareham Borough Council, Civic Offices, Civic Way, Fareham, PO16 7AZ.  Please drive into the Civic Offices car park, where you will be met and directed to the drop-off point.
