In responding to the Freedom of Information Act, the Borough Council will aim to demonstrate that it is an open organisation committed to delivering high quality public services.

The Council will also aim in complying with the Act and dealing with requests:

To maintain a comprehensive Publication Scheme (509 KB) that provides information which is readily accessible without the need for a formal Freedom of Information Act request.
To protect the personal data that the Council holds and disclose it only in strict compliance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998.
To satisfy all formal Freedom of Information Act requests promptly and within 20 working days.
