Salterns Promenade Improvement works
Works to repair the Salterns Promenade commenced in late April and will last for approximately 10 weeks.
These works will include replacing all of the timber edging which is rotting in many places and resurfacing the entire length of the promenade. The end result will be a safe and attractive facility for the public to use.
Unfortunately during the works the promenade will need to be closed, however members of the public will be able to use the open space to the north of the sea wall or the beach to move from one end of the promenade to the other. It is appreciated that this will be disruptive, but the closure is essential to ensure the safety of the public during these works.
During the improvements works the memorial benches that line the promenade will be remain in their current position and great care will be taken by our contractor to ensure they are not damaged.
The construction work will be carried out by Balfour Beatty Limited and overseen by Fareham Borough Council.
Every effort will be made to keep any disruptions to a minimum.
