You are here: Home / Waste Collection And Recycling

Bank Holiday collections

Our services do not change on Bank Holidays; your waste and recycling will be collected on the usual day. This includes Easter, and all spring and summer Bank Holidays.

Christmas 2016

Details of changes over the Christmas period will be posted here nearer the time. Garden waste collections are suspended from mid-December until mid-January.

Recycling

Please put paper, card, tins, cans, aerosols and plastic bottles in the blue lid recycling bin. Unfortunately no plastic other than bottles are accepted (no plastic pots, trays or packaging). Please put everything loose in the blue lid bin, not in bags.

Empty jars and bottles can go in the glass recycling banks around the Borough.

Clothes and textiles can be taken to the textile banks.

If you find you often throw food away, visit the Love Food Hate Waste External Hyperlink website for tempting recipes and useful tips on how to store food.

Household waste recycling centres 'HWRC'

If you have excess refuse or other household items for disposal, you can take them to a household waste recycling centre (HWRC). They are open 1 April - 30 September between 9am and 6pm and 1 October - 31 March between 9am and 4pm. They are closed on 25 and 26 December. If you have any queries about disposing of household rubbish please check our A - Z of waste or contact us on 01329 236100 or email at customerservices@fareham.gov.uk.
