Our services do not change on Bank Holidays; your waste and recycling will be collected on the usual day. This includes Easter, and all spring and summer Bank Holidays.
Over Christmas and New Year, your bin day may change.
Please note: we still only collect one type of waste from your property each week. We will empty whichever bin is due that week.
Garden waste collections stop after Friday 14th December, they re-start in mid-January – see the table below.
Please check on whichever table below refers to your bin due that week.
We will collect your real Christmas tree with the garden waste when the service resumes. Please leave it beside your bin - no need to chop it up or put it in the garden waste sack.
If you are not sure which bin is due, enter your road name or postcode into the database. When you know which bin is due, check the right table above for the revised collection day.
This information was contained in a leaflet delivered in the Autumn; please contact us if you would like another copy.
Find ways to store food , and use up left-overs
, to reduce the amount of food in your bin, and save you money.
Please put paper, card, tins, cans, aerosols and plastic bottles in the blue lid recycling bin. Unfortunately no plastic other than bottles are accepted (no plastic pots, tubs, trays or packaging). Please put everything loose in the blue lid bin, not in bags. Gift wrap cannot be put in recycling bins.
Empty jars and bottles can go in the glass recycling banks around the Borough.
Clothes and textiles can be taken to the textile banks.
If you have excess refuse or other household items for disposal, you can take them to a household waste recycling centre (HWRC). They are open every day except 25 and 26 December and 1 January. If you have any queries about disposing of household rubbish please check our A - Z of waste or contact us on 01329 236100 or email at customerservicecentre@fareham.gov.uk.
