Christmas Information
The Civic Offices will be closed from 4.00pm on Wednesday 24 December 2025 until 8.45am on Friday 2 January 2026.
- The Payment Desk will close at 2.30pm
- Reception and telephones will close at 4.00pm
There will be an out-of-hours telephone message advising customers of the Christmas closure and of the special enquiry service in operation during the festive period. If there is an emergency, please see our emergency contacts here.
Refuse, Recycling and Street Cleansing during the Christmas period
Bin days will change for the week after Christmas. Normal service will resume from Wednesday 7 January.
Please note: we collect one type of waste from your property each week. We will empty whichever bin is due that week.
Please check on whichever table below refers to your bin due that week.

Problems with bin collections during the Christmas period
For refuse, recycling or street cleansing enquiry, please call our answer phone service on 01329 824850. Please leave a message and we will return your call as soon as possible. You can also email your enquiry to publicspacesfrontline@fareham.gov.uk.
Garden Waste Collections
Garden waste collections will stop on Friday 12 December and will re-start on Monday 5 January 2026.
Christmas trees
In early 2026, we will be offering a free Christmas tree collection service to all households.
Your tree will be collected between 5-16 January. If you subscribe to the garden waste subscription service, please leave your Christmas tree whole and next to your garden waste bin for collection. If you are not a garden waste customer, your Christmas tree collection day can be found here.
Outside this period, Christmas trees will only be collected by the garden waste collection service. Subscription to this service is required and trees must be broken up and placed inside the garden waste bin. Sign up to our Clip and Collect garden waste subscription service here.
