Introducing Fareham’s (not so) new Mayor!

Following last week's Annual Council meeting, it has been confirmed that Councillor Mrs Pamela Bryant will continue as Mayor of Fareham for 2021/22.

Councillor Mrs Bryant’s daughter, Councillor Mrs Louise Clubley, will continue as her Mayoress.

They will be supporting three charities during their time in office; Fareport Talking News, 1350 (Fareham & District) Squadron Air Training Corps and Rowans Hospice.

Mayor of Fareham, Councillor Mrs Pamela Bryant, said: "I am delighted to continue to serve Fareham as Mayor. This last year has been so challenging, and it is an honour to have the opportunity to help the community through my work. I’m particularly pleased to be able to continue supporting my three charities this year as we were unable to hold any fundraising events last year.”

The Deputy Mayor is Councillor Mike Ford and Deputy Mayoress is Mrs Anne Ford.

Notes to Editor:

Additional information regarding Mayor’s charities:

1350 (Fareham & District) Squadron Air Training Corps

1350 Squadron was founded in 1941. It is a voluntary youth organisation and is one of the biggest squadrons in the county. They support, teach and train young people in many aspects of life.

The Fareham Squadron are in need of a new minibus to transport their cadets to camps, competitions and events. The Mayor would specifically like to help contribute towards this.

The Rowans Hospice

The Rowans Hospice is dedicated to improving the lives of people living with

life-limiting illnesses, their families and carers in Portsmouth and South East Hampshire.

They offer specialist support wherever it is needed, at the Hospice, at home and in the local community.

Funds are being raised towards a therapeutic jacuzzi/hydrotherapy bath and the Mayor would specifically like to help contribute towards this.

Fareport Talking News

Fareport Talking News records local news and events for people who cannot read the printed word.

Weekly bulletins are recorded on a memory stick and delivered directly to users by post – for free.

The charity is self-funding and relies entirely on the generosity of volunteers, the public and its own fundraising events.
