Local Plan Review: Call for Sites

In order to meet the emerging housing and employment requirement for the next 20 years, the Council has to identify suitable sites and broad locations for both housing and employment use. During November and December 2015 the Council invited developers, landowners, agents, individuals and other interested parties to submit details of sites they wished to be considered for future housing or employment development in Fareham Borough. To be considered within the assessment, the sites submitted for potential housing development had to be capable of delivering 5 or more dwellings. Thank you to those of you who have responded.

The sites submitted during the Call for Sites exercise will be assessed for their development potential as part of a new Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA), which will support the Local Plan Review.  The SHLAA will include details of all the sites which were submitted and will be published as part of the Draft Plan consultation, scheduled for summer 2016.  The Council will not be making details of submitted sites available nor entering into discussions about them until we have published the completed SHLAA. Site promoters have the option to use the Council's pre-application advice service to discuss the development prospects of land under our current planning policies.

If you require further information or would like to be included in the consultation database to receive further updates, please telephone the Planning Strategy and Regeneration team on 01329 824601 or email planningpolicy@fareham.gov.uk.
