Traffic investigations
Traffic investigations can include surveys of vehicle speed, traffic volume, accident analysis and cycle/pedestrian flows along a specific stretch of road. We get many requests and to keep this to a manageable level, we ask that they should all meet one or more of the following criteria before being placed on the pool (waiting) list:
- An identified need to help cyclists
- An identified need to help pedestrians (including requests for pedestrian crossings)
- Three or more recorded personal injury accidents in a three year period at a junction or within a 100 metre stretch of road (in the case of traffic calming requests accidents should be speed related)
- A problem relating to a crime and/or personal safety
- Help with non-motorised travel to school.
