Copyright

Planning application information submitted to the Council is protected by the Copyright Acts (Section 47, 1988 Act). The Council may make documents available only for more convenient inspection, to compare current applications with previous schemes and to check whether developments have been completed in accordance with approved plans. You must not make further copies without the prior permission of the copyright owner.

How do you comment on planning applications via 'online planning'?

We welcome your views on applications. You can comment, support or raise objection to an application for planning permission online. You can do this by clicking on the "comment on this application" on the application you are looking at. In your response:

You should only include material you are happy for the public to see online. Personal telephone numbers, email addresses and signatures will not be published on our website but will be on the original comments on the paper file and available for people to see if they visit the Civic Offices. There is a limited time in which you can make comments on an application. This deadline is set out on the application as you look at it. We will not take into account comments received after the deadline. You may also wish to speak to your local councillor about your views. If the application is to be considered at a planning committee you can attend and may be able to address the committee if you give us sufficient notice.

Using your information

We must make all written comments received available for public inspection. When writing, please deal with the issues of the application and not other personal matters as all comments can be seen at the Civic Offices. Our website will show the addresses of all people we have notified, including your own, as well as everyone who has commented on the application. However, other personal details - your telephone number, signature and email address - will not be published.

Other considerations/limitations

The online planning history on the site is not complete and you should not rely upon it if for a property transaction. We will not accept responsibility for any errors or omissions in the planning history information on online planning. Similarly, information on it does not constitute a formal notification of a planning decision. That means any actions taken as a result of information displayed on the site are done so entirely at your risk.

Please note: Online planning is currently only available to users with Internet Explorer version 5.5 or higher.

I have read all the terms & conditions described above and agree to abide by them whilst using the online planning service:
