Coronavirus (Covid-19) update 19 July 2021

England has moved to Step 4 of the roadmap. However, cases remain high and everyone should be cautious while managing the risks. Keep up with the latest news and guidance from the Government here External Hyperlink.

On 18th March 2021, the Department of Health and Social Care announced that from 1 April 2021 clinically extremely vulnerable people in England no longer needed to shield. Find out more information here External Hyperlink.

Rapid community testing

Anyone in England who has no symptoms of coronavirus can now get regular, rapid Covid-19 tests. Find out how to get yours here External Hyperlink.

Lateral flow kits have been provided to schools. However, should you wish to order a lateral flow test for your household, please call 119 or visit the Government website External Hyperlink.

On 16 August 2021, the requirement to self-isolate was ended for people who are double jabbed or aged under 18 and who are identified as a close contact of a positive COVID-19 case. However, they are advised to take a PCR test as soon as possible to check if they have the virus or variants of concern.

Anyone who tests positive for Covid-19 must isolate immediately, regardless of their vacination status or age. You can find a guide to self-isolation here PDF (286 KB).

Find out more about PCR tests and self-isolating on the Government website External Hyperlink.
