The issues and options were set out in details in a Special Edition of the Council magazine, Fareham Today (18 MB)which was delivered to homes and businesses in the borough.

In 2018, the Council set out a major change to it's draft local plan following the Government's changes to the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) which significantly increased the number of homes required in Fareham by 30%. It meant that the Draft Local Plan consulted on in 2017 didn't cover enough housing numbers and would need to be amended.
